Today in my English class, my teacher was talking about the poem "In Raglan Road" by Patrick Kavanagh — which to put succinctly is about a middle aged man throwing a fit because a woman half his age refused to date him — and she elaborated by asking us rhetorically is love meant to be so one-sided? Love isn't meant to be so toxic. You shouldn't have a foreboding feeling about someone in your in love with etc etc (Paraphrasing obviously). But everytime she gave another example, my smile kept getting wider and wider because that's exactly how I like my ships 🤭 I literally leaned over to my friend and whispered that if my pairing don't fight their own feelings for each other every step of the way, then I don't want it lmao
