Am I crazy??
Mar. 25th, 2025 07:34 am Not to sound super sensitive or anything, but sometimes I'm not sure if my friend realises how cutting her comments are.
Like she's genuinely the nicest person I know, always super kind and gives out compliments, and it's for that reason that I always take her words very seriously.
And I think that she might be uncomfortable around me? It makes me feel awful because I would rather die than make a nice person like her feel discomforted by my presence, but it also plays into another fear of mine where I'm merely tolerated, but I'm not liked.
I literally talked about it last night with my therapist.
She would never say anything outright to my face, but I'm not blind to the way that she's quick to mention my anger issues or emotional dysregulation when I ask about my problems. Or the way she's always longing for our mutual friend and her day seemingly revolving around this friend.
In this friend group of 4 (including myself), friend S is her favourite friend, no competition. And she always says that friend V is the funniest. Again, not to sound needy, but what about me? Oh, I'm "smart" . Smart is not funny. Smart is not fun to be around. If I'm boring, that's one thing. But if I'm annoying? Oh kms. She's always dishing out compliments in the GC and asking around for them, but it's notably absent for me. God, I sound like such a narcissist...
I would never dare ask about it to her face because I'm scared of making her more uncomfortable, but also because I fear the answer.
