I can't take compliments

 I'm so eepy at the moment, so I'm just gonna record this with, like, a dictaphone. I have a weird compulsion where I believe people are just lying to me. All the time. And not even, like, in a malicious kind of, oh, "everyone is out to get me" kind of thought process, but simply, kind of like when a kid tells you something that is blatantly untrue and you're like, "sure!" Right? It's like, you know, there's no malicious intent behind it, but I'm like, I don't believe a word you're saying right now. That's what it feels like. 

But funny thing is, this doesn't apply to everything or everyone. There are some people that I believe are being honest all the time. Which makes their words more cutting. But, frequently, I find if people say something that flatters me, be it intentionally or otherwise, I will immediately think they're lying. 
 

Might be a weird example, but I was having karaoke with my friends, and I sang "We'll be Fine" from Epic The Musical as Telemachus. And I really like Telemachus. I actually really wanna to cosplay Telemachus. And my friend It's like, oh, you'd make a really good Telemachus. Unprompted. I didn't say any of this, by the way. And he says, like, oh, yeah. You'd make a good Telemachus. And my other friend chimed in. I was like, oh, yeah. You'd make a really good Telemachus, and that made me really happy. But I'm like, oh, you're lying to me. Which is like, that's probably not the best instinctual reaction to have to that Oh, god forbid I be happy about something. If some one is being nice to me, like, not excessively per se, but moreso outside of just, like, general politeness. Actual compliment, I think you're straight up lying to me.
